White taffi strain by Doja Pak is now available on our platform. As many legendary strains before our time, the White Taffi was the result of a mistake. In 2022 Rusty aka the Duke of Erb, took a male of his Afternoon Pineapple and pollinated a cut of Gelato 41 that I got from Ted from Alien Labs. We phenohunted the Gelato 41 x Afternoon Pineapple aka P41 with Dave from Preferred Gardens and found a keeper; a pheno that expressed desirable traits from both parents and had a good structure for production viability.

We sent clones to our affiliates in NY and OKC as well as to my contractual growers in Sacramento, Florida and Arizona. We also gave Rusty the cut back so he could use our new P41 option to build crosses. Rusty switched to common strains like Duke’s Crumpets, Gelonade, Permanent Marker, LCG, and Mochi, to mention a few. When our cultivation partners began sending us sample batches a few months later. I saw right away that they weren’t the P41 pheno that Dave and I had initially chosen. In this specific clone generation. A short while later, we received a batch that we were certain originated from the original P41 mother plant. And sure enough, it was very different. In order for us to drop the crosses in Barcelona at Spannabis. I had now distributed this unidentified cut to many of our cultivators. And Rusty had created seeds using it that were currently undergoing testing. We located the cause of the cut after I spoke with Dave from Preferred. At this point, I had to decide whether to play or not to play. I began to consider how others would respond to the unidentified cut. It always appeared to impress. I attempted to visualise how the crosses would be and considered all of the different strains to which we had crossed it. That idea caught my attention. I then rolled a joint of the unidentified strain and took some prize pieces out of a trial box.

In addition to the flavourful smoke with a good degree of expansion, the nose was similar to a creamy menthol with gassy nutty white chocolate and tropical fruit. Given that Airheads candy had a “white mystery” flavour, I chose to maintain it and call it White Taffi. After I told Rusty what was going on, we agreed to stick to our plan and wait to see how the new White Taffi crosses turned out. To our amazement, they looked fantastic. These White Taffi crosses produced some of my favourite phenotypes in our genetic development program, and the White Taffi is now one of our best-selling kinds.
